The Bob Gray Orchestra has been in existence since 1973 and has played for many homecoming dances and proms at high schools as well for wedding receptions and other private parties including those at country clubs. The band can play “both sides of the street” with big band tunes and rock. The library is specially written so that the six horns and rhythm can sound very close to that of a big band.
The versatile 10-piece Bob Gray Orchestra plays both the big band “swing sound” (including waltzes, cha-chas, and rhumbas) and rock with some vocals. The band consists of two trumpets, three trombones, one alto sax, keyboard, guitar, electric bass, and drums. All of the musicians are top-caliber players who perform in musical organizations ranging from the Dayton Philharmonic and Springfield Symphony to local big bands, lounge groups, and combos. We have over 400 tunes in our library.
